Wes Hamrick

Wes Hamrick a friend and diesel mechanic came with me to the cabin in order to service the Deutz generator which powers the submersible pump for the well water. The throttle lever had an inner spring or pin break which resulted in an adventure trying to find a mechanic who had worked on a similar one before. No luck until we reached Mick at Youngs in Monticello. He diagnosed the issue and help us set a plan to correct it all. Wes spent a lot of time down in the oil, diesel and cold servicing the generator. He never complained and considered it a challenge to get it done regardless of the weather conditions and lack of lighting.

View of Ken's lake on the LaSal Mountain loop road. Late February, cool days and cold nights but little snow. This view is from the look out point on the South East side of the loop looking back towards Moab.

With early morning sunrise, Susie is already leading the charge to leave comfy sofas and breakfast for a vigorous hike. In fact she would prefer to be returning to the cabin after hiking during sunrise. We talked her into waiting until around 8 AM.

Susie on a hike around Gemini Bridges. Warm days cool nights are one of life's great pleasures. Sharing these little pleasures with someone you love is perhaps the grandest pleasure of all.

Grand daughter Monroe after a long day of hiking, exploring and having fun. Some of my earliest memories are of sleeping at the foot of my parents bed.
