One of my favorite photos is Bryan Miley (one of my best friends and riding buddy) down on his knees begging my forgiveness and telling me I was right and he was wrong when it came to determining which trail we were on and exactly where we were. Earlier in the day, with Bryan in the lead we had made a loop on Barking dog trail, and as we began the second loop of the same trail, keep in mind Bryan was in the lead, I mentioned that it was odd that he would start over on the trail. An argument ensued with him stating we were on a totally different trail and that I was semi nuts because I could no longer reckon which trails we were on. After numerous starts and stops on the trail and my insistence that it was the same trail we had just done, he flatly stated that if we came around a corner and saw a certain landmark, which he was sure we wouldn't then it would confirm we were on the same trail, and he would get down on his knees and beg my pardon. As we approached that certain landmark, he followed through with his commitment. Luckily I had my camera that day. I never look at this photo without laughing and thought I would post it for all to enjoy a little crow being eaten.

Just finished FHE and it was a rather new and pretty fun experience. Torrin, our soon to be 16 year old started the first day of school this year and took the lead. He prepared the lesson and gave it. I think it is the FHE we have had with only 3 people involved since 1978 when only Sven was with us. Six kids later here we are and liking it. He had each of us draw a version of the plan of happiness and then we compared notes. Since Susie said the prayer on dinner, (grilled cheese sandwhiches with Sven and Chelsea's candy jalapeno peppers) it was by default a very long prayer. So an hour later at the start of FHE Torrin and I out voted her 2 to 1 that her prayer counted as A)blessing on the meal, B)opening prayer for FHE and C) family prayer. I know, I am somewhat of a spiritual putz on these matters. At any rate having just three of us was unique and more than acceptable. Seems the days of hurried frenzy on Monday evenings may be over.

We You tubed the 4x100 olympic swim relay and really enjoyed it. Haaa, the French said they were there to crush the Americans. Dumb French. JK

Susie and I in the kitchen after feeding the family here visiting. Sven, Chelsea, Soren, Briana, Monroe, Dane, Torrin, Bjorn and some friends. Nearly every Sunday we invite friends over for dinner. This has been a tradition since we were first married regardless of our financial situation. "There is always room to feed family and friends."
